I think Im starting to grasp the whole “car electrics” side of things now, which is good, yet not so good, since most of the electrical items in my car don’t actually do anything. At the moment, my main beam flasher, horn & wipers don’t do nout.
However, I think I have made some progress on tracing the problem. Its all down to wire ampage! Huh, you say? Well, I moved my main car fuse box to the inside of my car a few months back and didn’t stop to think that I am using standard skinny 5amp wire for all of it! Now if im running something off the fusebox such as the wiper motor, or headlight flasher, or my twin air horns, they are defiantly going to use more than 5amps! So, instead of the usual thing (blowing fuses) I instead blow wires! Whoa yeh…
Anyway, tonight Im hoping to re-route most of my wiring loom so that it runs inside the car. I am also hoping to have my 3-clock centre binnacle installed, along with the blanking plate as found in 2 or 3 clock (on the right) standard Mini’s, as a bit of protection from the elements. Im now going to be using 24 amp wire, should do the trick!

Thanks for posting the cut off switch wireing had the same problem .
Word of advice with your track record mabey a good fire extinguisher should be your next project! Look up veical wireing products (Cant spell)
very usefull company & Book Fundermentals of motor veical tecnology you probably wont need any thing else ( apart from abetter car ! ) I hate Mini,s only had one long time ago.
